Like every week we are here with a new edition of TalentCast, filled with only the nicest songs of independent artists.

In this week's programme the music is quite relaxed. We will play some singers-songwriters, some electronica, some not too loud rock, some jazz and of course our Song of the Week winner. This week our winner is from a country where it's summer at the moment. In about half an hour I will tell you who won.

The first song in this programme is by the duo of Colin Batters and Chris Howard from London.

Song of the Week
Julie Lamb
Julie Lamb is a rock-based singer-songwriter from Wellington, New Zealand. Music-making is the essence of her life. She says:

Writing, arranging and performing music are some of the most incredible buzzes in my world. I want to be doing this stuff when I'm 90...

I love it! - It's like a little spark sets up and won't go out... little bits in my journals that turn into full blown songs... often in response to a rhythm that sets up just outside of consciousness... and sits until the song writes all over my pages. And there is nothing more astounding than actually getting to play the works with great musicians to a fabulous audience. WOW!

On October 2014 Julie Lamb released her third album, When We Hang Out. You can get her albums on Bandcamp and iTunes.

Next to making and promoting her own music, Julie Lamb likes to promote other musicians and bands too. She often organizes events in her home town Wellington.

Currently Julie Lamb is writing songs for her fourth album. She expects to release her new album at the end of 2016!
