Song of the Week
Apryl Evans
Should've Been Here By Now
In this fickle music business, it takes more than just a pretty face for an artist to stake their claim as a musical force to be reckoned with. That's where Apryl Evans comes in. Her unique, sexy, and soulful sound, combined with an edgy urban image, distinguishes her from the droves of musicians looking to strike a chord in the industry. Combine all of that with her wild and radiant personality, and you have the rising superstar that is Apryl Evans.

Since her early childhood, Apryl's family and friends have supported her in her development as a singer, and then also as songwriter. Apryl did not try songwriting till 2006, when she joined a songwriting group and she had to write a song for the first meeting. Although she did not believe she was able to do it, she wrote her first song: [i](Showing Me) My Way
.

In February 2008, Apryl signed up on SellaBand to raise funds for her debut album. The plans were then changed to record an EP. In March 2011, Apryl completed the fundraising and, with € 12 700 from 420 believers from around the world, started working on the EP. Apryl's fan-funded country/soul EP Things You Left Behind was recorded in Blackbird Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, and produced by Grammy Award winner David Hall and included a list of heavy hitter session musicians like Jim VanCleve, Tommy Harden and Jeff Roach, as well as hit songwriters Rachel Thibodeau and Jason Sever.

Things You Left Behind is Apryl's second studio release; before that, she had released EP One of Those Girls, produced by Emmy-Award winning and BMI-Award winning producer Robert Sands.
