The Canadian duo Sillken is made up of Michele Schmidt (vocals and classical guitar) and Ken Cade (electric violin, mandolin, percussion, drums, piano, backup vocals), who performed as two solo musicians until recently they decided to join their efforts. As solo artists, they appeared at the Freetimes, C'est What and at other acoustic music venues around Toronto. Four years ago, Michele and Ken moved to Vancouver and have since then been active on the west coast music scene.

In December 2009, Sillken signed up on SellaBand to raise funds for a debut album. The plans were then changed to record an EP. In August 2011, Sillken reached their target of $ 3 000, and in October 2012 the EP was finished and sent to their believers. Currently, Sillken are planning their next fundraising project.
