Femme Fatale
Lee-Leet debuted in 2009 with a self-recorded album State of Emergency, which got created rather spontaneously. Lee-Leet had learnt to play the piano as a child but then had a break from it that lasted years. Suddenly in 2008, she felt the need to play and once she sat at the piano, melodies and lyrics suddenly poured out of her.
When the album was ready, Lee-Leet took it to just one radio station - Channel 3 of the Polish Radio, the cult channel which is the most popular among music lovers in Poland. The station started playing it, to the delight of the listeners.
Lee-Leet soon started a band (bearing the same name as the artist: Lee-Leet), and started performing with the band, but also continued with the solo performances. Her next album, Bare, was a solo album recorded with just her voice and piano.
Lee-Leet's newest album Leave It Behind, released in autumn 2011, is her third album but the first recorded with her band: Lee-Leet (voice), Andrzej Frolow (keys), Tomasz Glinka (bass), Krzysztof Rukat (guitar) and Robert Sopala (drums). The accompaniment of the band brought out new qualities in Lee-Leet's music. The songs, which worked very well in Lee-Leet's solo voice and piano rendition, gained more power in rock, sometimes rather heavy arrangements.
The album contains 11 songs: 9 in English and 2 in Polish. One of them is Femme Fatale - this week's winning song. The album has enjoyed quite some airplay on Polish radio stations: one of the songs, So High, has been in the charts of the rock station Antyradio for weeks, getting as high as to position 3.
Lee-Leet is currently raising funds on Sellaband.com for the promotion of the new album.
All the 3 albums of Lee-Leet can be purchased from Lee-Leet's website.
