The first dream of Moni P, or Monika Piotrowska from Szczecin, Poland was to be an athlete, but singing had always been her hobby and eventually she decided to take it further. She started by singing backing vocals in the Szczecin band AD HOC. In 2007, the band MOPI was formed, with Monika as the lead singer. The band soon became popular in Szczecin, performing regularly at local clubs.

In 2008, MOPI signed up on SellaBand. The band made quite a few international fans there, including a superfan from Finland - Ossi, who decided to sponsor Moni P's solo album project. The idea for that came when Moni was contacted by David Malachowski, a producer and guitarist from the United States. He liked Monika's songs and had ideas for new arrangements. In autumn this year, Monika flew to the States, where she recorded her album David Malachowski and a number of well-known musicians: Gary Burke, who has worked with Bob Dylan, Pete Levin, known from his work with Annie Lennox and Paul Simon, Tony Levin, who has worked with Peter Gabriel, Daniel A Weiss (Joan Osborne), Lorenza Ponce (Jon Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow), Peter Sachon (Billy Joel) at Bennett Studios in New Jersey.

With these fresh recordings just finished, Moni P is at the moment looking around for a good manager and opportunities to promote the new release.
