Song of the Week
Again & Again
In early 2009 singer-songwriter Angie Arsenault became the first Canadian to have a music project funded by fans online. Her debut full album Once Upon a Dream was funded by 531 fans. The album explored the theme of dreams and the half-sleeping consciousness. Angie's second album, Shadow Revelations, again funded on SellaBand, was different musically; while the first one had acoustic instrumentation, the second, arranged and produced by Angie, was based on electronic arrangements. But the theme was similar: dreams, consciousness, the role of dreams in creativity. The album was accompanied by a short film (which you can watch above), which featured a few of Angie's fans and supporters.
In September 2014 Angie Arsenault has released her third album, this time with her mother, brother and sister. The family project, called The Roots Project, was also funded by fans, but this time directly on the project's website.
All Angie's releases can be purchased from her website.
