Aryn Michelle is a do-it-yourself pop indie singer-songwriter who likes to make things happen instead of waiting for a big break. As a teenager, Aryn taught herself to play the guitar and piano and soon started composing songs. While attending South-western University, she began releasing home made demos of her original songs and began performing around Austin, TX. She completed a study programme at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She started learning more about songwriting and also about engineering her recordings. She also earned two awards: she was honoured with the Scott Benson Award for songwriting, and awarded the grand prize in the 2009 Berklee Substance Abuse Prevention Campaign for her song Crave.

Those were not the last awards she received; since graduating, she was selected as a regional finalist for the 2009 & 2011 Mountain Stage NewSong Festival, was invited to be one of eight artists to represent the TUNE campaign, was named the TexasCSA's 2010 Songwriter of the Year, was the 2010 KLTY's Chick-fil-a Celebrate Freedom jingle writing contest grand prize winner. She was a top ten finalist in the 2011 Folgers' National Jingle Writing Contest and the grand prize winner of the 2011 Chevy Sonic Sounds Singer/Songwriter Contest. In 2012 she was named a winner of Song Revelation's "Star Now" competition.

Still during her studies at Berklee, Aryn Michelle discovered a fan-funding website sellaband.com and in August 2008 opened a fundraising project in order to finance her album. It was not to be her first one; Aryn's debut, Lockless Heart, was released already in 2009 while she was finishing her studies at Berklee.

In March 2010, Aryn completed fundraising for her album on SellaBand. Last One Standing was produced by Riley Friesen of Coda Record House and released on 4th October 2011.

Aryn Michelle keeps her creativity running also between creating her albums. While not performing and promoting her album, she keeps songwriting. She regularly hosts online shows on Ustream and apart from her regular YouTube Channel, she posts a live video of a new song every Tuesday on her other channel New Tune Tuesday.
