Katy Vachon
I Got Style
Already as a child, Katy Vachon knew she wanted to become a singer, like her father in the past. She took her first steps in music by her father's side at the age of 12. Then she gradually started meeting musicians in her native Abitibi-Temiscamingue (Quebec, Canada). At 17, she was the lead singer in many projects, and at 18, she was hosting various musical events.

At 19, Katy moved to Montreal. She was selected to be one of the lead singers in the musical Divas (direction: France Castel, animation: Rachid Badoury), where she sang the hits of Janis Joplin and Aretha Franklin. The musical ran during the summer of 2001.

Since 2003, Katy has won many singing competitions and has been a backing vocalist for a number of artists from Quebec (among others, Audrey de Montigny, Boom Desjardins, Marc-André Niquet, Gildor Roy, Raoul Duguay, Dave Roussy, Rick L. Blues). In 2010, she took part in various recording projects.

In 2011, Katy Vachon wrote and recorded what will be her debut single I Got Style, which was launched in the end of 2011. In February 2012, she started a profile on the fanfunding website Sellaband.com to raise extra funds for recording and promoting her album.
