As we can read on Aly Cook's SellaBand profile, Aly Cook is one of New Zealand's most successful self-managed independent artists. With her energetic online marketing of her music as well as with her numerous performances not only in her home country, but also in Norway, UK and USA, Aly has built a wolrldwide network of fans all around the globe.

Aly's first solo release was I Wonder, which enjoyed commercial airplay in New Zealand and was nominated New Zealand APRA Country Song of the Year 2005. Aly Cook's second single was Country Storm co-written with David Erik from Cincinatti, recorded in Nashville and accompanied by the video filmed in Nashville, Hollywood and rural New Zealand. Country Storm enjoyed airplay all around the globe.

In summer 2009, Aly Cook signed up on SellaBand to fund the recording of an album. In December 2009, she completed raising $ 20 000 and she is currently finishing her work on the album and preparing for the release. Spend It is the first single from the album. It was released in New Zealand on February 23rd and can be purchased on a few sites: iTunes, Digirama, Marbecks and Amplifier. The worldwide release of the single is planned for March 21st.

Aly Cook is planning a world tour to promote her album. During the tour, she and her crew will be making a documentary about her travels and her performances around the world. A number of shows for the tour have already been booked. Aly is raising funds for the tour and the making of the documentary on the site IndieGoGo.

Every weekend, Aly Cook hosts a virtual get-together called the Kiwi Sofa where her fans can chat with her and listen and watch as she performs songs live for them.
