Alex Ganassini
Two years after “Caligula” Alex Ganassini comes back with a new rock opera.

The album is a reinterpretation of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in a noir-tinged Milan. The concept is inspired on a graphic novel of Dino Buzzati , "Poema a fumetti" (1968)

Cakestupid are vocalist Isabel and multi-instrumentalist Tiv. Both songwriters, they create classic brilliantly crafted songs encompassing a diverse range of musical influences resulting in an original sound that refuses to be pigeonholed.

2016 saw the release of their self produced 12 track debut album Temperance And Virtue.Taking seven months to make, it is proudly DIY/Lo-Fi. Featuring Isabel's haunting passionate vocals and Tiv's skills as a multi instrumentalist, it's melodic, infectious, with at times almost bubblegum retro pop stylings that collide against an unexpected dark lyrical twist.

Cakestupid have recently ventured into film making creating a promo film for their track "There Goes Stephanie" which was shot on vintage 16mm and Super 8. Also shot on Super 8 is a live festival performance of "Please Don't Bring Me Down". Both can be viewed on the website.
Website of Chabliz, a band with an enchanting female vocalist at the front. She has a vocal range of 4 octaves, and her inspiration comes from singers such as Diamanda Galas, Yma Sumac, Ute Lemper, Toyah, Nick Cave, Betty Carter, Nina Hagen, Kate Bush, Melanie Safka, Nina Simone, Nico, Maria Callas, Greetje Bijma, Jeff Buckley, John Cale, Billie Mac Kenzie and other vocalists. Some folks call her the female Van der Graaf Generator............

The band plays a mixture of own songs with the atmosphere of gothicjazz and popnoir, with piano, double bass, drums and sometimes a guitar (with a gothic/metalsound). They like Keith Jarrett, and Van Dyke Parks, and many other influences. They like 80-'s pop (especially new wave), like Joy Division and Mark Almond. You'll hear all these influences, but also the classical influences like J.S. Bach and Wagner-operas.........Dutch artists they like are a.o. Spinvis, Greetje Bijma, Roosbeef, Within Temptation and many, many others.
